Gina & Shaun’s Newton Hall Wedding

Gina & Shaun chose the dramatic Newton Hall for their stunning winter wedding. With a deep aquamarine colour theme that complimented Newton Hall’s own blue décor, bold florals by Wild in Tyne and the most incredible fitted Ronald Joyce dress, this wedding was a feast for the eyes.

Of course, when you opt for a December date, you can’t predict the weather. Fortunately, apart from a little bit of wind, we were blessed with bright, clear skies and a dry day – praise the weather gods!

Gina and the girls got ready in a cottage behind the main hall, coming into the stunning Gianella bedroom for dressing and finishing touches, while Shaun and his Groomsmen arrived suited and booted from home.

As the hall filled up with guests, the final moments of prep went seamlessly and soon it was time to take seats, as the ceremony was about to begin. Shaun and his Best Man took a final swig from a hip flask to steady the nerves just as Gina and her Dad entered the Enchanted Chapel to the sound of Hattie Murdoch, an acoustic musician. Take a look at the photos below to see Gina's emotional expression as she walked towards Shaun on the final stretch of the aisle. It got me right in the feels!

After the ceremony (no objections!) we headed to the front of Newton Hall for the formal group shots but after a few it was really a bit cold and windy so the smaller final shots were done indoors. It was going well until the final shot – Rugby Friends. One of Shaun’s friends rounded them up while I completed the last family shot…and they just kept coming. There were so many we ended up back outside for that final shot as I couldn’t fit them all in indoors!

After some incredibly heartfelt speeches from Gina’s dad, Shaun and his Best Man, a delicious wedding breakfast was served. Later, the couple were announced back into the room to cut their fabulous 3 tier cake from The Cake Garden Ellington. Then, rather than the traditional first dance, the couple asked all their guests to join them on the dancefloor. And as wedding band The Folklore started up, the dancefloor never emptied back out again all night.
